Joan has had over 300 articles published in various periodicals.  Her first book, Obey Today, No Sorrow Tomorrow, was published in 1986.  Her second book, From My Heart, a collection of poetry was published in 1991.  Give Us This Day, her third book is a daily devotional guide.  Her fourth book, Teacher, We Love Your Class, is a collection of heart-warming stories from her 31 years of teaching experience.   Her sixth book, Cheer Through the Year, is a collection of inspirational articles and stories of encouragement.

Joan has also had articles included in God's Unexpected Blessings and God's Abundance, both of which are collections of inspirational articles and stories to help guide daily living written from some of today's most prolific and well known Christian authors.

Presently, Joan is the Religion Columnist for the Portales News Tribune.  She retired from teaching in 1992, after thirty-one years.  She and her husband, Emmitt, also a retired educator and rancher, reside in Portales, New Mexico.
