Jesus Is Just A Prayer Away |

In this journey of life we have ups and downs but with Jesus we always win. We had a big “down” recently. My husband was sent to Lubbock by helicopter. It was hard to be calm but I felt God’s presence. After 6 days Emmitt was brought back home to have rehab. I just cannot find enough words to tell you how much we love you with your visits, cards, emails, phone calls and your prayers. I have always said, “people need people.” How I needed you and you came to my rescue. I must thank a policeman who drove me to Roosevelt General. At first I felt alone in such a crisis but this gracious man said, “I will not leave you.” A wonderful man called our son in Clovis and stayed with me until Mark came. The ER workers were magnificent and their compassion comforted me. The physical therapists at Heartland and the employees are exceptional. Thank you so much for your prayers. Prayers have been so important to me. You have sustained me through this crisis and it was your prayers that brought us peace in the storm. I love this town and the people in it. Yes, we have hard times but we are not in heaven yet. We don’t know the future but we know who holds the future. Now I must practice what I preach! I still have tears sometimes but they are tears of gratitude. This world (with its trials and troubles) is not my permanent home. I’m just a temporary occupant. So I want to make every day count and trust in God’s loving care. Jesus is in the “people” business. He soothes, comforts, redeems and saves. When shadows try to dim our view, the Light of the Redeemer overtakes the darkness. Jesus living in you and me conquers every foe and every weapon that is formed against us will not prosper. “So no weapon that is used against you will defeat you. You will show that those who speak against you are wrong. These are the good things my servants receive. Their victory comes from me,” says the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17 NCV). Fiery darts of the evil one may try to bounce off our shield of faith but God is in control of every circumstance. He sends ministering angels in times of trouble. A thousand may fall at our side and ten thousand at our right hand but we win. (Psalm 91:7) He is there in the sunshine. He is there in the rain. He is there when I’m weary and in the midst of pain. He is there in the trials when the shadows block my view. He gives me daily blessings with a day that’s always new. He is there when clouds of sadness try to dim my life He is there to remind me to refrain from any strife. He is there to provide for everything I need. He is there to protect me and on His Word I feed. He is there to receive me as I reach my end of days. He is there forever and I’ll give Him all my praise! Remember dear reader, when you feel life is a battle, hope is still there. When you feel alone Jesus is still there. So take heart today. Jesus is just a prayer away. |
