Did anyone ever tell you, “I’m so glad you were born?” It gives you a special feeling to hear those words. Guess what? That is exactly what the Lord has told us. “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.” These are plans for good and not for evil and they are to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11). I would rather to have been born than not to have lived at all. I would rather have known the struggles than to have never known the victories. I would rather have known the pain than to have never known the ecstasy of life. I am so thankful my husband was born and my children…my friends…but most of all my Jesus. Because of Jesus, I can have peace even in the midst of the storm, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:26). When I lose a loved one, Jesus whispers: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3). For those who will have the first Christmas without that loved one, I pray Phillipians 4:7 for you: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” I am so glad Jesus was born. “He became flesh and dwelt among us. He is called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace. We are celebrating the birth of Jesus. He is truly “Joy to the World.” Let this wonderful time of the year bring you joy. Let the Prince of Peace give you peace. Tell Him you are so glad He was born! |
