Life Has Music...Do You Hear It?

April 4, 2008

Life has music and if it isn’t heard I think it’s never appreciated. How many of us dance our way through life but never hear the real meaning of it all? Life is a gift. Do we  take that gift for granted? In the busyness of our lives day after day, something is being left out and we end up with stress.

You and I can be determined to hear the music. To do that we must allow God’s many blessings to reign in our lives. He is love. He is life. He is our breath and heartbeat.

Each day is a brand new day and it is filled with gems of sparkling sunshine. Are we aware of God’s wonderful blessings today and the excitement of life? To “hear the music” we must have time to hear it. Let’s paint this day as carefully as an artist designs a magnificent painting. With strokes of beauty we will find an enthusiasm for life. Peace and encouragement comes with it. Our lives are strengthened as we open this gift. We will find new concepts and ideas as we bask in the joy God freely gives. Let’s be a representative of God on this earth and be the Bible other people read

I have listed some tips to help you hear the “music:”

Be the good that overcomes the bad.

Saturate your minds to the extent you forget you exist.

Each morning pledge your life into his care.

Make God glad he made you. Love him back.

You can never be lost to his Spirit.

Be thankful for this new day. It has never been lived before.

You have the power of choice so choose to be happy.

Forgive and overlook offenses. It does wonders for your mind.

Find humor in situations and have a good laugh.

Tell your spouse he or she is a precious gift to you.

Tell your children they are blessings.

Call a lonely person and give him or her encouragement.

Bake something for a new neighbor.

Enjoy nature’s sounds. (I love to hear church chimes, wind in the cottonwoods and doves cooing to their mates.)

Look for the beauty of sunsets, clouds and the laughter of children.

Know you are custom made. God created you and you are a person of great worth.

See yourself as a person who has a great future.

Have compassion and caring for others.

Believe you have a potential for greatness. (God gave his Son for you and all things are possible.)

The Bible is filled with many promises. Get to know them.

God and you are the “Great Majority.”

Shout for joy. Sing praises. Declare the glory of the Lord.

Nothing can defeat you with God on your side because with God you are a winner.

With every breath you take, breathe a prayer of thanksgiving.

Know you cannot be defeated because God rises up mightily in you.

His loving kindness is better than life.

“God is like my husband when he holds me in his arms.

God’s love enfolds me and he keeps me safe from harm.

God is like my sons when they call me on the phone.

I love to hear their voices, ‘How’s everything at home?’

I thank God for families and blessing that they bring.

They lift us up to heaven and we soar on eagles’ wings.”

All of these things give me a dancing heart and yes, “I can hear the music.”

I hope you can too. It’s a wonderful life!
