Restore Prayer in School

September 30, 2001

For almost four generations children have been denied the privilege of prayer in public schools. The results have been devastating. Disrespect, rebellion, chemical dependency and even murder has penetrated the classroom. When parents send their most precious possession to school, they want to feel their children are safe. In view of all the violence and other concerns, parents have opted to home school their children where prayer can be held and God's standards honored. Home schooled children and Christian schools have shown outstanding test scores and godly behavior. The need for prayer in public school is obvious. A nation is no greater than its citizens. The citizenry is no greater than its values. Children who are reared with no absolutes or respect for God will not contribute to a stable society. I grow a little weary of hearing "separation of church and state." This intent was never meant by our founding fathers. Christians, as taxpayers, are ignored and denied, while other groups proceed uninhibited.

The need for the return of prayer in schools is vital for the survival of this nation. Terrorists have lived among us. They have used and abused every facet of freedom to try to destroy our freedom. They have taken every advantage of living in this land with one objective in mind: to destroy America. They bring their distorted beliefs, obtain visas freely and even attend flying school. This action has incensed every red blooded American who loves this country. The need for prayer in our nation is obvious, especialy in school.

In 1963, one woman...just one woman, succeeded in removing prayer from public schools, despite the fact the majority of Americans were against it. Surely, now of all times, everyone can see the desperate need of prayer to be reinstated. We need it now and we need it permanently. "Happy are those who are helped by the God of Jacob. Their hope is in the LORD their God" (Psalm 146:5 NCV).

The children of the enemy are being taught to hate America. I'm sure they are allowed to have prayer too, to a false god who hates, kills and destroys life Even though Jesus "came to give life and to give it abundantly" (John 10:10), our children cannot pray in school to the One and only true God, a God who loves, restores and wants the very best for His people.

It is time to take America back! We are in a war for the very heart of this great land. We need God in every area of our lives and how we need Him for our children. We can start by restoring prayer in school. We have lived four decades without it. Look at the results. Our children are our leaders of tomorrow. Do they not need and deserve every resource available to help and guide them. On September 11, prayers were being said all over America. Do we have to wait for a national castrophe to return school prayer?

It is time to stand up, America. Let us start by restoring prayer in school.
