Proud to Be An American |

| I could not
be prouder of my country. "The Greatest Generation's"
descendants have made their ancestors proud. The "spirit of
America" is ingrained in the hearts of this beloved land.
The bravest of the brave, the courage, the strength displayed, the respect and diligence of those policemen, firemen and volunteers tell volumes about the people who make America great. Who can match the integrity of those great Americans on flight #93? Determination brought down the plane that had been targeted for more destruction. Those brave, courageous men made their lives count. Who can count the lives they saved by their heroic acts? We weep and mourn for the loss of lives. Our hearts ache with the grieving families. At first... shock, then grief, but now resolve! In Deuteronomy 3, Joshua was to lead his men against evil forces. The descendants of the same godless men are in the same geographical area today. Listen to the words Moses told Joshua concerning the battle: "Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you" (verse 22 NIV). This same promise reaches down to a praying America. We are on the winning side! I am grateful for the patriotism I see. Stores are sold out of flags and ribbons. Churches are seeing an increase in attendance and prayers are going up daily for this nation. I am extremely thankful that the loss of lives was not as high as first thought. One commentator estimated it could have been 20,000 people. I am thankful to live in a nation that allows me to worship freely. Pagan, barbaric societies live miserable lives. Just seeing their desolate rocky land on TV makes me all the more grateful. I am thankful for a praying president and cabinet members. Please pray daily for their safety. Most of all, my gratitude overflows for the founding fathers who built and dedicated this land to God. That godly spirit is still here and will be as long as America is on its knees. When it comes down to the real core of the issue, America is filled with hard working, loving and caring people. You are America's heroes! Yes, we will fight. We will fight for our way of life and we will win because "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world" (1 John 4:4 NIV). I am so proud to be an American! |
